5K Volunteers

Our end of season 5K provides a tangible sense of accomplishment to participants. To celebrate and make the experience one to remember, there are many opportunities to get involved.

  • Registration
  • Info Fairy
  • Make the Magic
  • Hydration Station
  • Sparkle Zone
  • Greeters/Cheer Squad
  • Become a Sparkle Runner and run with a girl who does not have an adult to run with. 

Group Opportunities

Are you part of a group or organization that wants to make an impact on our community? Girls on the Run would love to have you get involved with our program. Here are few ways you can make a difference while working together.

  • Volunteer together at a Girl on the Run 5K event – from cheer teams to water stations to handing out medals at the finish line and more – there are numerous ways for you to help bring this joyful end of season celebration to life!
  • Volunteer for or financially support a team for a season.

Team Adelaide

Want to volunteer, but can't commit to a full season of coaching? Join Team Adelaide! Team Adelaide is a group of volunteers who support our teams in a vareity of ways including:

  • Site Visits 
  • Shoe Fittings and Distributions
  • Substitute Coaching
  • Tabling at Events
  • Help with Planning and Executing the 5K

Not all Team Adelaide members do all these things all the time, but they complete coaches training and are called upon whenever these opportunities arise.

Committees and Skill-Based Opportunities

Our council is seeking volunteers who can serve on one of our committees or support us on a project-by-project basis. Our current needs are:

  • Photographers and Videographers
  • Internal Growth Committee members
  • IDEA (DEI) Committee members

Internships

Our council can create internship opportunities on an individual basis, helping you get the most out of your experience. Focus areas: program support, marketing and communications, social media, graphic design, photography and videography, IDEA (DEI), special events and fundraising. Interns must be at least 16 years old.
